Clubs of interest at the Buiucani Youth Centre

Traditionally, this week too, young people met in interest clubs, geared towards developing young people’s interests in a friendly and safe environment.

  • Sports club – provides an opportunity for young people to practice a new type of sport – paddle, which not only contributes to the well-being of young people and promotes healthy lifestyle, but also improves teamwork skills and develops strategic thinking in terms of shots, respect for the rules and the game itself.
  • English Club – English club sessions provide an opportunity for young people interested in overcoming the barrier of speaking a foreign language, enriching their knowledge and personal development. Young people participated in quests and quizzes aimed at developing communication, logical thinking and learning skills in an easy way.
  • Board Games Club – participating in this club is a fun and useful way for young people to liven up their free time. The variety of games allows them to try out different roles and develop a healthy competitive environment.
  • Debate club – participants organised themselves according to their positions, presenting arguments and counter-arguments in an open and constructive atmosphere. The aim of the club is to promote constructive debate and encourages active community participation in discussions about important social issues.

Good news for the youth sector in Chisinau!

On 22-26 April, the Director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre was in Bucharest, participating in the 35th General Assembly of the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency.

Petru Grecu: “I am happy to announce that the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre has become a full member and from 2024 we will benefit from those opportunities that young people from over 27 countries have.

Chisinau is in line with European standards of youth information, and this brings added value to all the actions already undertaken in Chisinau for young people, and here I recall about the first mobile application in the country and online information platform e-tineret.md but also the municipal program ,,Mobile Youth Center” that we are now promoting widely in the capital!”

Free activities for young people on the weekend at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre!

Every Friday and Saturday young people meet at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre. They spend their free time in the #WeekendlaCentru programme, which is for all young people in the capital. Moreover, the activities are divided into 2 age categories: on Friday – for young people aged 14 – 17, on Saturday – for young people aged 18 – 35!

From board games and table tennis to virtual reality experiences, young people had a wide range of options to have fun and socialise with other young people.

Friday, aimed at young people aged 14 – 17, was filled with leisure activities, trying out virtual reality through VR goggles and other personal development activities.

Saturday, aimed at young people aged 18 – 35, was filled with leisure activities, board games and other personal development activities.

For both age groups, the activities are similar, but adapted to the young participants!

The #WeekendlaCentru programme continues to provide young people in Chisinau with the opportunity to connect, have fun and learn in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Friday’s activities are for young people aged 14 – 17, and Saturday’s – for young people aged 18 – 35, and all activities are free!

Last session of the Personal Development Program at Riscani Youth Center!

We conclude the series of sessions within the Youth Personal Development Programme with the generic topic “Fighting hate speech” with psychologist Saracuta Victoria as trainer, and “Young people for a fair media” with journalist Gutu Vitalie as trainer.

In these two modules, young people learned about hate and methods to combat it, emotions and their management, and respectively about the media, its role in society, respect for ethical principles to maintain public trust in journalism and ensure a flow of credible and relevant information.

Volunteers of the Youth Centres of Chisinau handed out the tricolor ribbon in all sectors of Chisinau municipality!

Today, April 27, as a sign of deep respect and recognition of one of the most important national symbols, the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre and its branches celebrate the State Flag Day by distributing the tricolor ribbon to the inhabitants of Chisinau municipality.

The State Flag Day marks the solemn moment of the adoption of the tricolour flag as the national symbol of the Republic of Moldova, which took place on 27 April 1990. This day is not only an occasion to celebrate our history and national identity, but also an opportunity to reflect on the values and principles on which our state is based.

The State Flag, with its colours steeped in historical and cultural significance, is a symbol of our national identity and our common aspirations for freedom, dignity and prosperity. By distributing this emblem to all citizens, we express our respect for our history and traditions, while strengthening the bonds of solidarity and friendship between members of our community.

A new personal development session at buiucani youth center!

On Thursday, April 25, a new personal development session was held with trainer Mihai Popescu. The session covered several aspects, including the roles of young people in a team, the impact of motivation, and productivity.

By exploring team roles, participants understood the importance of collaboration and its impact on efficiency, individual responsibilities, and how they influence the achievement of common goals.

Motivation was addressed through the involvement of young people in various practical exercises requiring synchronization, listening, planning, and managing the work process.

Additionally, participants discovered techniques and practical tools to increase personal productivity in a team, such as time management, task allocation, including the individual characteristics of each person involved in the work process, and task prioritization.

Informing Youth about Youth Centers with the Help of the Mobile Team in Ciocana Sector.

The mobile team of Ciocana Youth Center ventured onto Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard at the intersection with Igor Vieru Street to inform young people about the branches of the Municipal Youth Center of Chisinau and the platforms through which they can obtain information.

The objectives of the Mobile Team’s field trips are:

  • to inform young people about Youth Centers,
  • to disseminate information about the services offered to young people,
  • to support the personal and social development of young people by encouraging them to participate in Youth Center activities.

We aim to provide a memorable and formative experience for every young person, inviting them into a safe and friendly environment at the Youth Center!

Ciocana Youth Centre hosts a new training session “Blackmail”.

On Thursday, April 25, at the Ciocana Youth Centre, an exceptional training session was held on “Blackmail. Its typology” held by Andrei Buzdugan and Ana Covali.

The training aimed to:

  • informing young people about the emotional and psychological aspects of blackmail
  • familiarize them with the various manipulation techniques and how to recognize them in different contexts
  • to encourage young people to develop skills to deal with and counter emotional manipulation and blackmail tactics.

In the first part of the session participants were familiarised with the definition and variants of blackmail, as well as ways of recognising it in everyday life. They identified the underlying causes of manipulative behaviour and emotional blackmail.

The second part of the session was based on encouraging young people to develop skills to confront and counter manipulative tactics. The session offered practical strategies and solutions to increase resilience and manage blackmail situations effectively.

The third part of the session highlighted the importance of being aware of the negative consequences of using emotional blackmail, both for the individuals involved and for interpersonal relationships. Towards the end, the focus was on exploring and understanding the long-term impact of emotional manipulation and blackmail in different life contexts.

Special English Club Session at Buiucani Youth Center

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the English club at Buiucani Youth Center held a special session focused on developing vocabulary related to Easter holidays, traditions, and customs.

Participants discussed Easter traditions both in Moldova and abroad, learning interesting facts and discovering less commonly used words in casual conversations but frequently encountered in advertisements, greeting messages, or well wishes.

Young people, divided into teams of two, engaged in a quest, enhancing their deduction skills and matching new English words.

The English club sessions provide an opportunity for young people interested in overcoming the language barrier, enriching their knowledge, and personal development.

Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre invites you to the free session entitled “Coaching – Leadership Skills”. This session is an integral part of the Municipal Youth Personal Development Programme and is specifically designed for young people aged 18-35.

This coaching session is an opportunity for young people to learn and develop leadership skills essential for personal and professional success. The trainers, Mihail Popescu and Inga Covalciuc, are recognised professionals in the field of personal development and leadership.

Here are some of the topics to be discussed:

  • Understanding the fundamentals of coaching
  • Communication and active listening
  • Goal setting and action planning
  • Managing resources and balance
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Feedback and performance evaluation

The session will take place on 27 April 2024 at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre, starting at 15:00.
