Personal Development Program with Trainer Mihail Popescu at Ciocana Youth Center.

Ciocana Youth Center is back with a new session of the Personal Development Program – “Effective Communication for the Connected Generation,” aimed at young people eager to develop in the field of communication.

During the session, the following topics were addressed:

  • Communication channels;
  • Auditory communication;
  • Kinesthetic and visual communication.

Throughout the training, young people had the opportunity to participate in several interactive activities that tested the communication skills learned during the sessions.

All sessions are free for all young people aged 14-35.

 

Book Launch at Cărturești: Lilia Calancea presents her novel Alionuska!

On Friday, May 3, at 6:30 pm, at the Cărturești bookshop in the National Museum of History in Chisinau on 121A, 31 August 1989, book lovers will have the opportunity to attend the launch event of the novel “Alionușka” by Lilia Calancea, published in the Ego collection. Prose of Polirom Publishing House, brings to the fore a sensitive and captivating story about friendship and growing up against the background of the social and political upheavals of the 90s.

The event will be moderated by Viorica Covalschi and will include the presence of author Lilia Calancea, along with special guests Ludmila Șimanschi, Viorica Oleinic and Vitalie Sprînceană.

The novel Alionuska explores the challenges and changes during the break-up of the Soviet Union through the main character, Zoia Vangheli. A schoolgirl in Chisinau, Zoia faces new experiences, including transferring to a Romanian-language school and befriending the bold Katia. Throughout the book, readers will discover how Zoia navigates a changing world as she copes with the hurried coming of age and social upheavals of the time.

Lilia Calancea is an acclaimed author and a member of the Writers’ Union of the Republic of Moldova. She has previously published several novels and volumes of short prose and has been nominated for various literary awards.

Learn how to navigate the internet and media wisely. Workshop on media literacy with Steven Youngblood!

America House Chisinau organizes a workshop for those who want to develop their skills to navigate the internet and media with discernment, identifying and separating accurate information from misinformation, fake news and hate speech. The training will take place on 7 and 8 May 2024, from 15:30-18:30 at 27 Banulescu Bodoni Street.

The workshop will be led by American expert Steven Youngblood and will focus on media literacy and media tools. Participants will be given the tools to analyse, evaluate and interpret media messages effectively. Through interactive discussions, hands-on activities and case studies from Moldovan media, participants will learn how to decode media content, recognize falsehoods, misinformation and distinguish between facts and opinions.

Steven Youngblood, a specialist in peace journalism and media education, will share his knowledge and experience to help participants understand the role of media in shaping perceptions and influencing attitudes. He will also introduce the concept of peace media, an important tool for promoting conflict resolution, peacebuilding, social justice and human rights.

This event offers participants the opportunity to enrich their critical thinking skills and learn how to navigate wisely through the information landscape of the digital age. Video Filming and Editing Workshop at America House Chisinau

America House Chisinau organizes a workshop for all people aged 16 and over who want to improve their filming and video editing skills. The workshop will take place on 7 and 10 May 2024, starting at 12:00 on 27 Banulescu Bodoni Street.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the practical journalist Daria Căpățînă, director of the Multimedia Production Department for Children at Teleradio Moldova and university lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the State University of Moldova.

The workshop is held over two sessions, where the trainer will explain the main rules of filming: how to hold the camera, the best filming angles and some mobile apps that can help with video and audio recording and editing.

Participants will have the opportunity to put the skills they have learned into practice by shooting several videos and then editing them. In the second session, the focus will be on editing techniques and improving the quality of the videos produced.

Dreamable: The perfect opportunity for technology-enthusiast students and entrepreneurs

Orange Digital Center Moldova and Dreamups launch the Dreamable program, a pre-accelerator dedicated to university students aged between 19 and 25 who wish to develop their entrepreneurial skills and turn ideas into scalable startups.

The Dreamable program will take place between June and August and is structured in three stages.

In the first stage, the 200 selected participants will attend online learning sessions from June to July, guided by over 20 mentors and experts in startup development. They will learn how to generate innovative ideas, identify potential customers, explore marketing strategies, and develop monetization models for businesses.

The second stage consists of an offline boot camp, which will take place in August in Chișinău. The most promising 50 participants with tech startup ideas will work for three days alongside experts to validate and develop business concepts in a real environment.

In the final stage, students will present the program’s results to a jury at Demo Day. The top 10 startup ideas will evolve on stage, and the top three startups will receive grants of 50,000 MDL each for further business development.

To be eligible for the program, you must be a student aged between 19 and 25, interested in developing your tech ideas, and have the necessary availability to participate throughout the program. Open day at “Nicolae testemițanu” State university of medicine and pharmacy. Get a glimpse into the world of medicine!

High school students and graduates from colleges in the Republic of Moldova now have the opportunity to discover what it’s like to be a student at the “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The Association of Medical Students and Residents (ASMR) is organizing an Open Day event, which will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM, in the courtyard of the central teaching block in Chișinău, located at 165 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard.

Participants can benefit from a comprehensive program, which includes interactive workshops, exhibitions, and photo sessions. They will also have the opportunity to explore the main university destinations, such as the University Dental Center, the University Center for Simulation in Medical Training, and the University Pharmaceutical Center “Vasile Procopișin.” Visits to the Medical Science Library, the Academic Evaluation Center, and the University Socio-Cultural Complex are also part of the itinerary.

ASMR has also prepared a meeting with the administration of the “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, during which participants will receive information firsthand about the university’s educational offer for the academic year 2024-2025, including bachelor’s, integrated, and master’s study programs, admission and accommodation conditions, as well as tuition fees.

The Open Day event is organized in collaboration with the Association of Pharmacy Students and the Association of Dental Students in Moldova. During the event, students will guide visitors, sharing their experiences and aspects of student life at “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Visit of Ms. Maida Pasic, Regional Education Adviser, UNICEF at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre had the honour to host the visit of Mrs Maida Pasic, Regional Education Adviser, UNICEF.

During the visit, Ms. Maida Pasic was familiarized with the infrastructure and activities carried out at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre, highlighting the efforts made to create an environment conducive to learning and development.

The opportunities and services offered to young people in the municipality of Chisinau through the Youth Centres were also highlighted. These centres are an essential pillar in offering programmes and activities aimed at stimulating civic engagement and personal development of young people.

The importance of strengthening the partnership between UNICEF and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre for the development and implementation of joint initiatives was stressed. These strategic collaborations are essential for advancing educational and social goals and supporting young people in realizing their potential.

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre marks the end of a two-month period of exploration and learning, the series of sessions facilitated by Grigore Vieru has successfully concluded. This initiative, aimed at young people aged 14 to 17, served as a platform for cultivating personal and professional skills, giving participants the tools to shape their own path in life.

Participants in this series of sessions had the privilege of exploring a diverse spectrum of topics, including:

  1. Discipline – the path to success and fulfilment
  2. Discovering the power of habits for personal success
  3. Building your own story in your professional career
  4. Exercising leadership in promoting positive change
  5. Fundamental understanding of economics
  6. Effectively managing your personal budget
  7. Monetizing personal passions
  8. Initiating and managing investments
  9. Exploring digital financial tools

These sessions were an invaluable opportunity for young people to develop their leadership skills and gain practical financial knowledge, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities.

The fundamental aim of this programme has been to provide young people with a structured and supported framework to develop their potential, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and aspirations and giving them the tools to confidently navigate through life. The active participation of young people in such initiatives is essential to strengthen them as responsible members and active contributors to the society in which they live.

Pedestrian Street “Eugen Doga” – has been the location of the mobile team since 30 April. See in the article what the young people discussed.

The mobile team of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre went out in the heart of the city to inform and interact with young people in the area of the pedestrian street “Eugen Doga”.

The Mobile Team, composed of young volunteers and youth workers, had an active and dynamic presence in this central area of the city, providing information about Youth Centres in Chisinau. Through this initiative, the aim was to strengthen the link between young people and the resources available for their personal and professional development.

The main purpose of the action was to familiarize young people with the services and programs offered by the Youth Centres, highlighting the opportunities for non-formal education, volunteering and active recreation available to them. At the same time, information was provided about upcoming events organised by the Youth Centres, as well as ways to get involved in the community.

Through such initiatives, the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre reaffirms its commitment to young people in the community and continues to promote their active participation in the social and cultural life of the city.

Students from “Mihail Sadoveanu” Theoretical High School were informed about opportunities at Youth Centres.

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre annually carries out the campaign “I am young – I am informed” in high school, secondary and university schools. Through this campaign, youth workers discuss with young people the opportunities offered by youth centres in Chisinau.

In a new session of the campaign, they discussed with young people from the “Mihail Sadoveanu” Theoretical High School.

The mission of an information session is to facilitate access to relevant information and opportunities for young people and to contribute to the formation of an educated generation connected to available resources.

Through open dialogue and active interaction with students, youth workers aim to create an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas, questions and experiences. Thus, the information session aims to become a moment of education and inspiration, stimulating the active involvement of young people in community life and promoting the values of solidarity, responsibility and personal development.
