Chisinau Municipal Youth Center announces the launch of the competition for the position of Deputy Director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center!

Requirements of the position:

  1. to know the peculiarities of psycho-social and physiological development for different developmental stages of adolescents and young people;
  2. to know the rights and needs of young people;
  3. possess techniques for observing young people in their living environment, in their everyday relationships and actions;
  4. know how to apply educational methods which encourage personal development, communication, mobility, self-control, life skills and the ability to integrate young people into society;
  5. planning, teamwork, cooperation and communication skills;
  6. adaptability and flexibility in the performance of duties;
  7. other requirements stipulated in the job description.

 

Conditions of participation:

  • is a citizen of the Republic of Moldova;
  • has a university degree / or post-secondary technical / post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education, preferably in the field of social sciences and humanities;
  • has at least 1 year experience in youth work;
  • is under 35 years of age on the closing date for applications;
  • has knowledge of Romanian;
  • is medically fit (certified by a family doctor) for the performance of the duties;
  • has no criminal record (criminal record certificate);
  • has not been dismissed in the last 3 years pursuant to Article 86 (1) (l), (m) and (n) of the Labor Code (confirmed by a sworn statement, as per Annex no. 8 to the Regulation).

 

Duties and powers of the principal specialist:

  1. Drafts draft orders on the implementation of programs and activities for young people;
  2. organizes and implements youth programmes and activities in accordance with the approved plan;
  3. participates in capacity building courses and sessions in youth work;
  4. carries out tasks delegated by the Head of Section;
  5. develops the individual activity plan;
  6. submits activity reports.

 

On the day of the interview, candidates must present personal documents to verify the veracity of the data indicated in the application form:

a) copy of identity card;

b) a copy of their employment record and other documents certifying their length of service and voluntary work;

c) copies of documents justifying studies, training and internships;

d) motivation letter;

e) letter of recommendation.

Youth Chess Championship at Chisinau Municipal Youth Center: A Competition of Strategy and Perseverance

Chisinau Municipal Youth Center hosted a remarkable event dedicated to young chess enthusiasts. The chess championship brought together talented young people eager to demonstrate their strategic skills in a fierce but fair-play competition.

Considered by many to be a true art of thinking, chess gave the young participants an ideal opportunity to develop their concentration, patience and competitive spirit. The competition was structured in two age categories: 14-17 and 18-25, ensuring a level playing field for youngsters to face opponents of the same caliber.

Following some intense and suspenseful matches, the participants’ efforts were rewarded with cash prizes. The winners in each age category were rewarded as follows:

14-17 age category:

  • 1st place: 500 lei
  • 2nd place: 300 lei
  • 3rd place: 200 lei

18-25 years category:

  • 1st place: 500 lei
  • 2nd place: 300 lei
  • 3rd place: 200 lei

The organizers warmly congratulate all the participants for their dedication and competitive spirit and wish them every success in future competitions. How were the 4 days of the Training Program for Youth Facilitators in Non-Formal Education!

During this program, participants acquired essential knowledge and practical skills necessary to facilitate learning processes in a non-formal setting. Topics covered included:

Non-Formal Education and its Principles: participants explored the fundamental concepts of non-formal education, understanding how it differs from formal and informal education. The principles underlying this form of education and the crucial role of facilitation in this context were discussed.
Development of Facilitator Competencies: The program placed particular emphasis on developing the skills needed to become a successful facilitator, such as effective communication, empathy, the ability to motivate and guide diverse groups, and adaptability to the needs of participants.

Importance of Feedback: Another central theme was the role of constructive feedback in the educational process. Participants learned how to give and receive feedback in a way that supports continuous development and improves the effectiveness of educational activities.
Planning and Delivery of Educational Activities: Young people were trained in the use of different types of educational activities, learning how to plan and deliver them effectively, according to the educational objectives and the specificity of the group of participants. Practical exercises included designing educational programs and applying facilitation strategies.
Teamwork and Group Dynamics: The program also included team building activities and exercises that strengthened group collaboration and cohesion, which are essential to a facilitator’s success. Intercultural competencies and how they can influence group dynamics were also explored.

The key role of the program was to train young people to be able to facilitate non-formal educational processes, thus contributing to improving the quality of youth activities and projects. Through a practical and interactive approach, participants were equipped with essential skills such as effective communication, empathy, the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse groups, as well as skills in planning and delivering educational activities.

In September 2024, the young facilitators will go through a mentoring session.
From October 2024 to March 2025, the young facilitators will deliver 10 sessions each in the Municipal Youth Centers in Chisinau!

The second day of the training program for young facilitators in non-formal education was dedicated to deepening some essential aspects of facilitation and delivery of educational activities.

The topics covered in the program were:

  • The Importance of Feedback: participants explored the crucial role of feedback in the educational process. They discussed how constructive feedback can improve the effectiveness of activities and contribute to the continuous development of young people.
  • Analysis of Types of Activities: Different types of activities used in non-formal education were presented and analyzed in order to better understand how young people need to adapt the activities according to the educational objectives and needs of the participants.
  • Delivery of Activities by Participants: Participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills through the delivery of activities, applying the techniques and strategies learned in previous sessions.
  • Teamwork: Teamwork exercises were conducted, aimed at strengthening collaboration and communication among participants, which are essential for the success of any educational program.
  • Team Building: Activities included team-building sessions, which aimed to improve group cohesion and promote a friendly environment for personal development.

The sessions were led by Lipsiuc Ana and Iulia Macarenco, experienced trainers in non-formal education. Through their interactive method and practical approach, they provided participants with a deep understanding of the concepts.
