Ciocana Youth Center enthusiastically announces the launch of registration for the Youth Chess Championship, which will take place between 20 and 28 September 2024, within the Youth Sport Program. This event is aimed at young people aged between 14 and 35 years and will take place in the Youth Center Ciocana sector.

Event details:

  • Experience level: All levels welcome
  • Age of participants: 14-35 years

Championship Objectives:

  1. Promote intellectual development and strategic skills.
  2. To provide a platform for chess enthusiasts to hone their skills.
  3. To increase young people’s awareness and involvement in competitive chess games.

Championship program:

  • Registration: August 5 – September 18, 2024, 23:59
  • Championship kick-off and group A games: September 20, 2024, 16:45
  • Group B games: September 21, 2024, 11:45am
  • Championship final: September 28, 2024

Playing rules:

  • Pace of play: 10 minutes per player
  • System of play: Swiss over 4 rounds
  • Tie Breakers: Buchholz Score, Sonneborn-Berger Score, Number of wins

Prizes:

  • First Prize: 1500 lei
  • Second Prize: 1000 lei
  • Third Prize: 500 lei

The participants will be divided into two groups of 16 players each and will play according to the Swiss system. The top 8 players in each group will advance to the final group to determine the championship winners.

Entries must be made by completing the form available at the form link. Participants must abide by the terms and conditions of the rules and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation and respect.

Chisinau Municipal Youth Center announces the launch of the competition for the position of Head of Botanica Youth Center!

Job requirements:

  1. To know the peculiarities of psycho-social and physiological development for different developmental stages of adolescents and young people;
  2. have knowledge of the rights and needs of young people
    possess techniques for observing young people in their living environment, in their everyday relationships and actions;
  3. know how to apply educational methods which encourage personal development, communication, mobility, self-control, life skills and the ability to integrate young people into society;
  4. planning, teamwork, cooperation and communication skills;
  5. adaptability and flexibility in the performance of duties;
  6. other requirements stipulated in the job description.

 

Conditions for participation:

  • Hold citizenship of the Republic of Moldova;
  • has a university degree / or post-secondary technical / post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education, preferably in the field of social sciences and humanities;
  • has at least 1 year experience in youth work;
  • is under 35 years of age on the closing date for applications;
  • has knowledge of Romanian;
  • is medically fit (certified by a family doctor) for the performance of the duties;
  • has no criminal record (criminal record certificate);
  • has not been dismissed in the last 3 years on the basis of art.86 paragraph (1) letters l), m) and n) of the Labor Code (confirmed by a sworn statement, as per Annex no.8 to the Regulation).

 

Tasks and powers of the main specialist:

  1. Drafts orders on the implementation of youth programs and activities;
  2. organizes and implements youth programmes and activities in accordance with the approved plan;
  3. participates in capacity building courses and sessions in youth work;
  4. carries out tasks delegated by the Head of Section;
  5. develops the individual activity plan;
  6. submits activity reports.

 

On the day of the interview, candidates present their personal documents in order to verify the veracity of the data indicated in the application form:

(a) copy of identity card;

(b) a copy of their employment record and other documents attesting to their length of service and voluntary activity;

c) copies of documents justifying studies, training and internships;

d) motivation letter;

e) letter of recommendation.

National Cleanup Day: community cleanup event at the Village Museum Lake, Botanica

On September 21, 2024, starting at 9:30 am, DHub, in collaboration with AO Recycling and ABS Recycling, is organizing a community event dedicated to cleanliness, marking National Cleanup Day. The action will take place in the area of Lake 8 (Vosmiorca), within the Village Museum in the Botanica sector, Chisinau.

Participants will be equipped with gloves, garbage bags and other necessary materials to collect waste around the lake. In addition, the organizers will provide coffee, tea and snacks for all those who get involved in this collective effort to make the community cleaner and greener.

Organizers encourage citizens to take the initiative and organize clean-up actions in their own communities as well. This joint effort is an opportunity to help protect the environment and improve quality of life.

Bike repair and maintenance workshop at IarmarEco 2024: Learn how to look after your bike properly!

On September 15, 2024, between 15:00 and 16:30, in the Valea Trandafirilor Park in Chisinau (entrance on Decebal Boulevard), cyclists are invited to attend a free workshop on bicycle repair and maintenance. The event, organized in the framework of the IarmarEco 2024 fair, gives you the opportunity to learn how to take care of your bike and deal with the most common bike breakdowns.

Under the guidance of an experienced mechanic, you will learn:

  • how to set up your bike correctly;
  • how to put the chain on;
  • how to fix a flat;
  • general maintenance practices;
  • and many other useful tips for your safety on the road.

All the necessary tools will be provided and the atmosphere will be friendly and energetic. At the ABC table you’ll find stickers and posters from local creators, as well as an active community ready to answer your questions about bikes, trails, road safety and sustainable mobility.

The workshop is organized in partnership with EcoVisio, as part of the project “Sustainable and safe energy and transport in Moldova”, supported by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.
