Municipal Youth Personal Development Program: Opportunity for growth and learning – free!

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Center continues to invest in the personal development of young people through the Municipal Youth Personal Development Program, designed to help them develop essential skills for the future. The programme takes the form of five interactive sessions, where participants choose their field and their trainer, thus having a personalized experience. The sessions for 14-17 year olds, coordinated by psychologist Victoria Chicu, are currently being finalized.

The latest session explored important topics such as effective communication and public speaking. We spoke to Victoria Chicu about her motivation for participating in the program and the importance of these sessions for the participants.

“First of all, I like to challenge myself, to do different trainings with different participants…” she said. “Moreover, young people need such topics, which they themselves confirm. These topics are not imposed by us, but a requirement coming from their needs.”

As for the benefits that such sessions bring to young people, Victoria Chicu emphasizes the importance: “It is an opportunity for participants to experience, not just learn theoretically. Here they can live the experience in a comfortable and safe environment, where they can manifest themselves as they feel.”

In order to better understand the impact of this program, we talked to the young participants, who shared their expectations and first impressions:

“From this program, I expect to set healthy goals, get to know myself better and meet new people,” – says Mirela, participant.

“I come with positive emotions and am looking forward to personal development through these sessions.” – says Cristian, participant.

When asked what they have learned so far, they highlighted some of the most valuable lessons:

“I learned to speak in front of an audience, to control my emotions more effectively and to make healthy decisions,” – says Mirela.

“It is essential how we present ourselves in front of an audience and how we convey our message through gestures and expressions”- says Maria Magdalena.

Finally, the participants explained why they believe that all young people should participate in personal development programs. Mirela is of the opinion that “life is about continuous personal development,” and Maria Magdalena points out that this type of program “will only benefit those interested in developing their communication skills.” Cristian adds that “young people would benefit from such programs because they develop you very well emotionally.”

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Center aims through this program to support young people in exploring and developing their skills, preparing them for the challenges of the future. If you are interested in joining the program, whether you are between 14 and 17 years old or between 18 and 35 years old, fill in the form available here and participate for free!

e-voluntar.md platform, the new digital solution for the involvement and monitoring of volunteers from the Youth Centers in the capital – Official presentation of the concept

The Chisinau Municipal Youth Center presented the concept of the online platform e-voluntar.md, which aims to revolutionize the way of working in the framework of volunteering activities. The e-volunteer.md platform aims to become an essential tool for the efficient coordination of activities and to facilitate interaction between volunteers and their coordinators.

The launch event took place in a dynamic and friendly atmosphere, bringing together volunteers and youth workers from the centers in the capital. The e-voluntar.md platform has been designed as a virtual space where young people can find tasks according to their interests and availability. It will be a motivation system that will involve them more in personal development and volunteering activities.

During the event, Petru GRECU, Director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center, underlined the value of this initiative for the volunteer community, highlighting how the platform can help streamline the work and increase the involvement of young people.

“This platform comes to support our volunteer coordinators in the centers so that they can manage much simpler and much easier the volunteering activity in our centers but also for the volunteers we have in the centers, more than 250 volunteers active today, so that they can get more actively and more operationally involved.”

e-voluntar.md comes with a number of interactive functionalities tailored to the needs of volunteers and coordinators: chats for teams, a clear system for distributing and monitoring tasks, points and levels for motivation, and other tools that facilitate quick and efficient organization. The platform is thus an integrated solution and all these functions are accessible in one place.

Elena Damaschin is a volunteer coordinator at the Center, and during the event she explained how the platform will transform the volunteer experience by providing a well-defined structure and a constant communication channel.

“I’m glad that our work, both my work and yours, will be facilitated by this platform which will make it much easier for us to be able to talk to each other, to plan when and how to come, so that there will be no slip-ups.”

With this launch, the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center aims to provide volunteers with a modern support, adapted to today’s times, facilitating the coordination of activities and improving efficiency and satisfaction in volunteer work.

Chisinau Municipal Youth Center and its branches launched the Chisinau Youth Week, which will take place from November 4 to 10, 2024. The week will focus on promoting the opportunities and needs of young people.

We asked young people in the capital about how satisfied they are with the opportunities, what they would like to see more of, but also how they can contribute to the development of the youth sector.

Responses were varied: some young people appreciated the opportunities available, but mentioned that more and better promoted initiatives are needed. For example, one participant rated the opportunities with a 4, saying that there are events, but more diversity in different areas would be needed. Others were of the opinion that they are not sufficiently informed about the activities available, which affects the level of involvement.
