MentorMe Forum 2024 – 10 years of mentoring, inspiration and professional success

The fourth edition of the Job Accelerator ended triumphantly, marking 10 years of excellence through MentorMe. The MentorMe 2024 Forum, held at the Glia Impact Hub in Chisinau, was a celebration of community, ideas and young people’s professional futures.

The event was more than just a forum – it was a real community. Attendees, mentors and partners came together to explore key topics related to professional development, connecting today’s leaders with tomorrow’s leaders.

The MentorMe Forum featured inspirational stories from leaders such as:

  • Viorel Barbănouă, who spoke about the dynamics of successful teams, “We are not a family, we are a soccer team”.
  • Doru Curoșu, who explored the power of personal brand through his speech: “Employee Branding: the future of your career starts with you”.
  • Vlada Țurcan, who shared her story of reintegrating into the Moldovan labor market after studying abroad.

But also interactive sessions including:

  • Panels on managing emotions in the workplace.
  • Workshops on how to align your vocation with your profession.
  • Speedmatching, a unique experience where young professionals interacted directly with employers and professionals, laying the foundations for future successful collaborations.

The Forum was a key moment to reflect on 10 years of MentorMe, during which time the organization has become a benchmark in supporting young people in the labour market. Participants left inspired and motivated to build a solid professional future with the support of the MentorMe community.

Final Conference: Ambassadors of Community Development marked the end of the Youth Activation Program 4.0!

The 4.0 edition of the Youth Activation Program, one of the most ambitious projects dedicated to young people, came to an end with a festive conference entitled Ambassadors of Community Development. The event, organized at the Buiucani Youth Center, celebrated the active involvement and positive impact that young people have had in the development of their communities.

A central moment of the conference was the presentation of the projects developed by the participating initiative groups during the Summer Academy: Empowering Initiative Groups. Young people shared their experiences from the implementation process, the challenges encountered and lessons learned, demonstrating that their ideas can transform local communities. From green initiatives to social and cultural programs, each project reflected the passion and creativity of the participants.

As a token of appreciation for their efforts, all participants received diplomas and the most committed participants were rewarded with special prizes. These moments underlined the importance of dedication and encouraged young people to continue to be agents of change.

The event was supported by several partners who contributed to its success:

  • ArtPoligraf provided quality promotional materials.
  • Luceafărul Theater provided tickets to the participants.
  • Buiucani Youth Center hosted the event, offering a modern and friendly space.

Youth Activation Program 4.0 was implemented by AO “International Youth Association”, with financial support from the National Youth Agency, through the Annual Grants Program for Youth Organizations 2024.

This program was more than just a series of activities – it was a journey of personal and professional development, an opportunity for learning and connecting, which opened new perspectives for the young people involved.

Organizers and participants look optimistically to the future, ready to expand the impact of these initiatives and inspire new generations of community leaders.

SKYE Club Chisinau promotes mental health through the event “MindCare: Explore Your Mind!”

On November 24, 2024, SKYE Club Chisinau organized the event “MindCare: Explore Your Mind!”, a workshop dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental health and emotional balance. The event, hosted in the modern space of iHub Chisinau, attracted dozens of participants interested in discovering stress management techniques and adopting a balanced lifestyle.

Topics covered and impact on participants

Under the guidance of trainers Zinaida Soroceanu and Victoria Chicu, participants explored the link between sleep and mental health, learned practical relaxation methods and developed skills to cope with daily challenges. The positive and interactive atmosphere facilitated the exchange of ideas and created a space for learning and connecting. At the end, each participant received a motivational book as inspiration for maintaining personal balance.

International support and local collaborations

The event was made possible thanks to the financial support of the European Union, in partnership with international organizations such as World Vision Armenia, IRIS Business Incubator, World Vision Georgia and the Development Training Institute “MillenniumM”. Also, iHub Chisinau provided a welcoming space, contributing to the success of the event.

Future perspectives

The organizers stressed that such initiatives are essential for educating young people about mental health and building a more aware and balanced community. SKYE Club Chisinau expressed its willingness to continue the series of events dedicated to personal development, inviting participants to be part of future projects.

Through “MindCare: Explore Your Mind!”, SKYE Club Chisinau is demonstrating that mental health can be a basic pillar for young people’s success and well-being.

#FilterFree: Interactive activities for young people 18+ at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center

On Saturday, November 30, the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center will host a new edition of the #FreeFilter program, dedicated to young people over 18 years of age. The program promises a day full of interactive activities and fun in a friendly and relaxing environment.

The program of the day:

  • 16:00 – Getting started with Microsoft Office basics: a practical workshop to develop digital skills, essential in any young person’s career.
  • 17:00 – Board game “Mafia”: an opportunity to test strategies, form alliances and have fun as a team.
  • 17:00 – Cinema with the Young: a relaxing experience for movie lovers.

Throughout the day, participants will have access to recreational activities:

  • PlayStation – for video game enthusiasts;
  • Table tennis – friendly competitions and lots of fun.

These events are part of the series of activities organized by the #FreeFilter programme, which aims to provide young people with a safe space for socializing, learning and having fun.

The #FilterFree program brings interactive activities for young people 18+ at the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center

Young people from Chisinau had a weekend full of exciting activities at the Municipal Youth Center, as part of the #FreeFilter program, dedicated to those over 18 years of age.

Participants enjoyed a variety of interactive activities designed to stimulate creativity, strategic thinking and personal development. These included:

  • “Getting Started with Microsoft Office Basics”, where young people learned essential digital concepts;
  • The board game “Mafia”, which tested participants’ communication strategies and skills;
  • “Unfiltered Talks” with Mariana Bularga, a sex, love and relationship coach, who created a safe space to address topics on love, relationships and trust.

In addition, the atmosphere was enlivened by video games and table tennis, providing a relaxed and friendly space for socializing and having fun.

The activities of the #FreeFilter program continue every Saturday, offering a variety of activities for young people interested in exploring new opportunities and growing in an open and inclusive environment.

The Red Cross Society of Moldova has launched a free psychological helpline

In a remarkable initiative to support people in need, the Red Cross Society of Moldova, in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, has launched the HELP LINE telephone helpline, offering basic psychological support.

Who is it aimed at?

If you are facing stress, anxiety or uncertainty, or simply feel the need to talk to someone who really listens, this initiative is for you. The HELP LINE is available to anyone in need of emotional support, including refugees and people in difficult situations.

What services does it offer?

The Psychological Support Helpline offers:

  • Emotional support: to help people cope with everyday stress and challenges.
  • Active listening: by people trained in psychological first aid.
  • Referral: link to specialized psychological services as needed.

Young people from Chisinau discovered the secrets of starting a business at Ciocana Youth Center

Young people from the capital had the opportunity to explore the business world and develop essential skills for the future during the activity “Generating ideas and initiation into business”, held at the Ciocana Youth Center. The event was part of the Youth Personal Development Program and had Valentin Creciun as mentor.

During the activity, participants have:

  • Created and deployed their own business ideas;
  • Identified possible challenges in the process of implementing the ideas;
  • Developed creative solutions to overcome obstacles.

The activity aimed not only to develop concrete ideas, but also to form strategic and entrepreneurial thinking. Special emphasis was placed on financial education so that young people are prepared to plan their future with confidence.

The Youth Personal Development Program at the Ciocana Youth Center continues to provide valuable opportunities for young people who want to improve their skills and take the first steps towards successful careers.
