Chisinau Municipal Council of Students invites you to make your voice heard!

On August 22, at 17:00, the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center will host a public consultation for all those who believe that the students’ voice matters: the debate on the Regulation of the Chisinau Municipal Council of Students and of the Local Sector Councils of Students, in new wording.

The event is organized by the Municipal Council of Students, but it is open to everyone: active students, representatives of educational institutions, young people who believe in change and want to see how things work from the inside. If you’ve ever attended a council meeting or asked yourself the question “But why don’t we decide anything in our school?”, then you belong here.

📌 We will discuss:

  • How Board members are elected;

  • what are the real responsibilities of the Chisinau Municipal Council of Students;

  • what changes are needed to make this regulation reflect the real needs of Chisinau students.

Why come?

Because a regulation is not just a document – it is the structure that makes the difference between “we exist” and “we have impact”. Because your opinions matter – especially when you want the student voice to become a real force rather than a token.

🗓 Date: August 22
🕔 Time: 17:00
📍 Location: Chisinau Municipal Youth Center (90, Mitropolit Varlaam str.)

Come with questions, with suggestions, with vision.
Come to understand how what can become the most important tool for student representation in the capital.

Applications Are Now Open for GirlsGoIT Summer Camp 2025 – Young Women Passionate About IT Are Encouraged to Apply

Are you a young woman passionate about IT and dreaming of building a career in this exciting and opportunity-filled field? If the answer is “yes,” then GirlsGoIT Summer Camp 2025 is for you! This opportunity is open to girls aged 14 to 20. The camp will take place from July 18 to 27, 2025, in Chișinău, in a physical format.

Although Moldova’s IT sector is becoming an increasingly important and profitable part of the economy, its continued growth and ability to attract investments depends on access to qualified labor and the full potential of its population.

The mission of the GirlsGoIT project is to empower and encourage young women to pursue careers in information technology. The project aims to challenge stereotypes and reduce gender disparities in the tech industry by giving girls and young women direct access to digital education and professional training.

Participation is free of charge, and all costs for accommodation, meals, and activities will be covered by the organizers.

Young women interested in applying are encouraged to fill out this form.
The application deadline is June 29, 2025.

During the camp, participants will attend hands-on workshops led by young professionals in the field. Each participant will choose one of six specialized tracks to study:

  • UX/UI Design (Figma)

  • Dynamic Frontend (JavaScript, VueJS, Firebase)

  • Static Frontend (HTML & CSS)

  • Game Development (Python, RenPy, Storytelling)

  • Data Science (Python, Statistics, Machine Learning)

  • Prototyping (3D modeling – Fusion 360 & Arduino)

GirlsGoIT is a national program launched in 2015. Over the years, it has helped build an active community of confident, informed, and skilled young women, ready to become key players in the ICT field.

In a context where women remain underrepresented in technology, initiatives like this play a crucial role in promoting inclusion. According to data published by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2019, only 31% of jobs in Moldova’s ICT sector are held by women, and girls represent only 4.6% of students who choose a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field. These gaps result in limited access to well-paid jobs and high-potential career paths.

For more information about the program, visit the GirlsGoIT Moldova Instagram or Facebook pages.

The program is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the National Youth Agency, UNICEF, and TEKEDU.

  • Tour 1: July 1–4
  • Tour 2: July 7–10

The camp will take place at the “Odiseu” Recreation Center in Vadul lui Vodă.

Over the course of four days, participants will engage in a dynamic program covering key topics relevant to youth today, including:

  • Activism and participatory democracy
  • Sustainability and environmental protection
  • Entrepreneurship and innovative thinking
  • Educational technology, using modern equipment such as 3D printers, Sphero Bolt and Ozobot robots, drones, and VR headsets
  • Sound and emotion exploration through a DJ workshop

This initiative aims to empower young people to actively engage in their communities, providing both theoretical insights and hands-on experiences in teamwork and intercultural communication. Activities will be conducted in both Romanian and Russian, with priority given to applicants from vulnerable groups.

Accommodation, meals, and all activities are fully covered by the organizers. Transportation costs will also be reimbursed upon presenting a valid travel ticket and ID. Personal transportation expenses are not eligible for reimbursement.

Interested applicants should fill out the registration form by the June 23 deadline.

“Youth in Action” is part of a broader initiative supported by international and local partners, promoting civic engagement, youth participation, and the development of future-ready skills. With its focus on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, the camp addresses the growing need to prepare youth for tomorrow’s economic and social challenges.
